Sharla,
Are you going to be releasing the video you recorded at your workshop this year? I really want to get one of your videos that includes Nursery, which you recorded at our workshop.
Thanks so much for all your hard work in making Primary Music so much fun for both the kids and the Music Leaders.
Kim
The cameras were having difficulty at the workshop, but my tech guy has downloaded all the footage and is trying to work through it. Thanks for asking!
The sound was not working for the Nursery part of it as I recall. My daughter and I were sitting in the front row and she video taped it on her phone. The sound and the picture are quite good. I would be happy to send it to you if you would like it.

GOod Morning, Sharla!
Thank you SO much for what you do. I really appreciate all the time you have spent typing and posting your ideas.
Just wondering – do you have typed out anywhere the “Partner Bar Graph” for older kids and the Action Word Action ideas for younger kids you had listed for the 3rd verse of If I Listen With My Heart ? They were mentioned in your lesson plan page for that song, but I wasn’t able to find them.
I was trying to figure out some good Action Word Actions for that third verse today (I am a little late on teaching the 3rd verse) and was a bit stumped at coming up with any action words for that song.
If not then no worries – just wondered if I had missed a link somewhere.
Thanks again for all your ideas and inspiration. Today I am doing a story-song for the third verse (I actually made one up myslef!) and using the shaker pass for another song. 🙂
Happy Sunday!
Dear Laura, It made my heart happy to hear about your story-song creation and the shaker pass.
feel= rub your arm
Holy Spirit=hand sign for Holy Ghost
teaches=offering a gift to someone
truth and right=handsign for true and right
comforts=hug yourself tightly
testifies=hands up around your mouth as if you were trying to make yourself heard
Christ=handsign for Christ
speaks=one hand to the mouth
me=point to self
quiet=hand to mouth giving a shhhh sign
fill=hands run palms to the sky up the body as if lifting something
peace=handsign for peace
Does that help?
Also, let me know if you would like me to send you how to make a bar graph. (No, I don’t have it typed up.)
Wow! Thank you Sharla! That helps a ton! <3
And your shaker pass worked out wonderfully – I had my whole sr primary in one big circle and the shake-pass-pickup worked out great with the pulse of the song ("Our Time to Shine). 🙂
And if it isn't too much trouble I would LOVE for you to send me some info on how to make a bar graph. But only if it is convenient for you. (email is laura.of.music@gmail.com)

This is so beautiful, thank you!! How would you go about teaching it, would you just use a small group of the older kids to sing it?

Kind of new. Where do I find the correct hand signs listed for 3rd verse of If I Listen with my Heart?
